Event Rules and Policies

Badges
All registrants (Full and All Access) will receive a badge when they check in at the event. Please wear your badge at all times (The engraved brick badges are not the accepted form of identification for entrance into Brickworld) . It is your entrance pass to Brickworld, including seminars and workshops, so don't lose it! We cannot replace lost badges.

If you find a lost badge or parts of a badge, please take them to the registration desk.

Children
All minors under 18 years of age MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at Brickworld. Parents or guardians are accountable for their child's or children's actions. Please help ensure your child adheres to the rules of the event. Please be respectful to other attendees by taking crying or disruptive children outside of the event.

Remember, this is an adult-oriented event, and some conversations may be inappropriate for your children. It is your responsibility to remove your child(ren) from inappropriate scenarios.

Conduct
Play nice and play well! Stealing, cheating, breaking any law or rule, or disorderly conduct will be grounds to be removed from the conventioon without refund.  Disorderly conduct include rough housing, running, riding a skateboard or scooter among other things.

Dangerous Materials
No flammable liquids or gases, weapons, or compressed gas tanks of any sort are allowed in the event area.

Food and Beverage
Food and beverage is permitted as defined by the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center. It is preferred that you eat outside the event area. If you do eat in the event area, please discard any trash promptly in a proper receptacle. No hot plates or toaster ovens are allowed to be used in hotel rooms. Please consult the hotel for this information.

Please wash your hands after eating...especially before handling bricks.

Handling Bricks
Please respect each other and their models. Models may be more fragile than they appear, and some builders don't like strangers or friends handling their models. Please be respectful by asking the model creation permission before handling their model.

Brickworld is a trademark of Brickworld, LLC. All rights reserved. LEGO is a trademark of The LEGO Group. Other trademarks mentioned are the property of their respective owners or groups. Trademarked names may appear on the website without the trademark or registered trademark symbol. Rather than use a trademark or registered trademark symbol for every occurrence, the names are used only in an editorial fashion and for the benefit of the trademark owener, with no intention of trademark infringement.

Brickworld is in no way associated with The LEGO Group.

Videotaping and Photography
Videotaping and photography is permitted at Brickworld unless explicitly prohibited by the panelist or creators. Please try to limit flash photography during presentations and workshops. Also make sure to ask permission to move a model to take a better shot.

Workshop Information

What is a Workshop?
Workshops are 3 hour, hands-on sessions about LEGO related topics. These sessions are led by AFOLs in the community.

Who can attend the Workshops?
Full and All Access Registrants may attend the workshops.

Do I have the Register for Workshops?
Yes, if you would like to attend one (or more) of the workshops, you will need to pre-register for each workshop.

How do I Register for a Workshop?
When registration for workshops opens, we will send an email to all registrants with the instructions for registering.

When will Workshop Registration open?
Registration for workshops will probably open in May. We will send an email to all registrants when workshop registration opens.

Where do I find the List of Workshops Available?
Go to the 'Convention' tab and select 'Event Info'. When the schedule is available, it will appear here. The schedule probably won't be available until May.

When are the Workshops?
The workshops will be held on Thursday.

Is there an Additional Cost to attend the Workshops?
In most cases, no, there is not an additional cost. However, some of the workshops do cost extra. Please read the description of the workshop to determine if there is an additional cost.

Do I need to Bring anything when I Attend the Workshop?
Read the description of the workshop to determine if you need to bring anything for that particular workshop.

Is there a Limit as to how many Registrants can Attend the Workshops?
Yes, since the workshops are typically hands on, there is a limit to the number of registrants able to attend. The capacity will be listed under the description for each workshop.

Presentation Information
What is a Presentation?
Presentations are 50-minute sessions about LEGO related topics. These sessions are led by AFOLs in the community.

Who can attend the Presentations?
Full and All Access Registrants may attend the presentations.

Do I have to Register for Presentations?
No, you do not have to register for presentations.

Where do I find the List of Presentations Available?
Go to the 'Convention' tab and select 'Event Info'. When the schedule is available, it will appear here. The schedule probably won't be available until May.

When are the Presentations?
The presentations will be held on Friday.

Is there an Additional Cost to attend the Presentations?
No, there is not an additional cost.

The only limitation is the room capacity.

Volunteer Information

Who can Volunteer at Brickworld?
Full and All Access Registrants may volunteer at Brickworld.

What are the Volunteer Opportunities at Brickworld?
Some of the things we may need help with are:
  1. Registration desk assistance (Thursday - Friday)
  2. Public exhibition people flow assistance (Saturday - Sunday)
  3. Presentation assistance on Friday
  4. General preparation assistance on Thursday
  5. Playbrick monitoring during public hours (Saturday - Sunday)
How do I Volunteer?
